Well I have been waiting in vein for the last couple of days (a bit unreasonable time frame some might say) for itunes to come out with 7.0.1 to fix some of the significant problems. I have had no problems with sound quality or speed of the coverflow design. I have had significant problems with running a game and itunes simultaneously something that i could easily do under the previous version of itunes.

One important thing is that i have not had any problems running itunes with my macbook it runs effortlessly and seamlessly as it did previously, i have always found itunes under windows to be very sluggish. No doubt apple spend substantial amounts of money on the development of itunes but as yet they seem to struggle with cross platform portability.

For ipod users;

For what its worth anytime i find an article telling me more of what i already know i will put it in my delicious account:

There’s a list of bugs and fixed at MacWorld UK.

I’m not impacted by any bugs, just annoyed with the memory usage with CoverFlow and the loss of the EQ button.

I waited for the update, and Apple has now release iTunes 7.0.1.

And even under 7.0.1, iTunes will still use up to 200Mb of memory when flicking through album covers.

Yeah it is stilll not great… but still the interface is way better media player 11 despite itself being improved. I think that part of my frustration is that you cant download itunes store content in anything more than 128bit. Downloaded John Mayer’s latest titled continum, fantastic album by the way, put it on a CD for the car and the sound quality is less than stellar.
